Safety Advisory Issued for Indonesians in Australia Following Sydney Incident

KBRN, Jakarta: Indonesian citizens in Australia are advised to be cautious and increase their awareness due to a planned large-scale protest scheduled for Saturday, September 13, 2025.
The demonstrations are planned to take place in 12 cities across Australia. In a press statement, the Indonesian Embassy in Canberra urged Indonesian citizens in Australia to avoid crowded areas and protest locations.
"The Indonesian Embassy in Canberra appeals to the Indonesian community in Australia to remain calm and vigilant, especially around the locations of demonstrations/crowds," the embassy wrote on its social media on Friday, September 12, 2025.
According to the post, the protests are titled "Australia Unites Against Government Corruption and National Day of Action Against Racism & Fascism" and will be held in Adelaide, Brisbane, Cairns, Canberra, Darwin, Hobart, Grafton, Katoomba, Mackay, Melbourne, Perth, and Sydney.
The Indonesian Embassy also asked its citizens to continue monitoring news about the protests and to contact the provided emergency numbers if they are affected.
"Obey the instructions of local security authorities and government, and monitor news reports in the mass media," the statement concluded. ***
