KBRN, New Delhi: Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto attended India's 76th Republic Day parade as this year's chief guest on Sunday, January 26, 2025, in New Delhi.

According to rri.co.id, the event commemorated the adoption of the Indian Constitution on January 26, 1950.

The celebration featured a grand parade showcasing India's military strength and cultural diversity.

Despite the cold weather, tens of thousands of spectators filled the streets of New Delhi.

The parade highlighted the Indian armed forces, with military and paramilitary units marching in front of leaders and state guests.

One of the parade's highlights was the Indonesian Military's first-time participation, which underscored the strengthening of bilateral relations between the two countries.

In addition to the military display, the cultural procession depicted India's rich heritage, including the Maha Kumbh festival, one of the largest religious festivals in the world. This massive Hindu pilgrimage festival is held every 12 years.

The parade was held at Kartavya Path, previously known as Rajpath Avenue. After being renovated to mark India's 75th Independence Day, it was renamed Boulevard of Duty.

The event also showcased Indian-made military equipment, such as tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, radar systems, and missiles.

Over 5,000 artists performed more than 40 traditional dance forms across India, using props like spears, swords, and drums.

The parade concluded with a fly past of fighter jets, including Rafale jets, transport aircraft, and helicopters. ***
