RRI.CO.ID, Denpasar - The National Health Insurance (JKN) Program continues to deliver tangible benefits to the public through increasingly accessible, efficient, and high-quality healthcare services.

One innovation supporting these improvements is the use of biometric technology at Ngoerah General Hospital (RSUP) in Denpasar, Bali, which accelerates identity verification for JKN participants.

“Through the JKN Program, the government continues to strive to provide quality healthcare services,” said Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment, Muhaimin Iskandar, while inspecting services at Ngoerah Hospital in Denpasar on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, as quoted by Antara.

He emphasized that his visit to Denpasar’s largest hospital was to ensure JKN services remain accessible, efficient, and non-discriminatory across all health facilities.

Director of Health Service Guarantees at BPJS Kesehatan, Abdi Kurniawan Purba, explained that the improved quality of JKN services stems from collaboration between the government and healthcare facilities in delivering innovations that provide convenience for participants.

Abdi said the registration process via the Mobile JKN application and identity verification using biometric technology at hospitals are key to the system’s ease of use. The aim is to reduce waiting times so participants can receive the medical services they need.

“Starting from the registration process, we provide an Online Queue accessible through Mobile JKN. Then, at the hospital, identity verification is conducted using biometrics. Everything is designed to reduce waiting times so participants receive faster and easier service,” Abdi said.

The benefits of JKN are also felt directly by participants. Riyanto, who accompanied his wife for treatment, said the program has been very helpful for his family, both financially and in terms of service.

He appreciated the simple administrative process and the friendly, professional service provided by healthcare workers. His wife’s condition is now more stable than before, when she had to undergo repeated treatment in the emergency room.

“The JKN program has been a lifesaver for our family. The service is excellent, the administration is easy, and we feel the government is present to provide health protection,” Riyanto said. ***
