RRI.CO.ID, Balikpapan - Indonesian lawmaker Ateng Sutisna, visited Siloam Hospital Balikpapan on Monday to assess its readiness to provide healthcare services for both the general public and members of parliament assigned to the region. As quoted by dpr.go.id, the visit was conducted as part of efforts to ensure access to quality healthcare services.

He emphasized that hospitals must provide inclusive and high-quality care to all patients. He said healthcare standards should remain the same regardless of whether patients are ordinary citizens or public officials.

According to the lawmaker," equal access to healthcare is essential for maintaining public trust in medical institutions. He stressed that hospitals should be prepared to serve everyone with professionalism and fairness."

During the visit, hospital management presented the facility’s capabilities, including modern medical equipment, healthcare technology, and professional medical personnel. These resources enable the hospital to provide both general and specialized medical services.

The assessment found that the hospital has sufficient capacity to serve as a referral healthcare center in East Kalimantan. The facility was also considered capable of supporting the healthcare needs of members of parliament while carrying out duties in the province.

In addition, Ateng noted that, based on records since 2024, there have been no significant complaints from patients treated at the hospital. This includes members of the House of Representatives who have received medical care there.

He praised the hospital’s professional services and encouraged management to maintain and further improve service quality. According to him, consistent standards are important to ensure patient satisfaction and safety.

As part of a national private hospital network, the hospital plays an important role in supporting healthcare services in East Kalimantan. The visit is expected to strengthen cooperation between parliament and healthcare providers while ensuring fast, professional, and accessible medical services for the public.
