RRI.CO.ID, Bandung - Indonesia's Vice Minister of Health, Benjamin Paulus Octavianus, emphasized that patient safety is one of the main pillars. They must be maintained in the implementation of the National Health Insurance (JKN).

This affirmation also marks a new chapter in synergy between the Ministry of Health and the BPJS Kesehatan (Social Security Agency for Health), which was previously often perceived as moving in different directions.

In a press release received by RRI VOI from the Ministry of Health on Thursday, May 21, 2026, he explained that the success of healthcare services should not be measured solely by the number of medical procedures, but rather by measuring the actions taken. "Success in healthcare services is not simply about doing more, but rather providing the right care to the right patient at the right time," Benjamin stated in Jakarta.

On the same occasion, the President Director of BPJS Kesehatan, Prihati Pujowaskito, emphasized her institution's commitment to providing the widest possible access to healthcare services, while preventing misappropriation of funds.

"We are using this spirit of National Awakening as a momentum for BPJS Kesehatan, along with the Ministry of Health, and all healthcare facility stakeholders, to jointly declare our commitment to upholding the integrity of the pact to open access to healthcare services," Pujo said.

She collaborates with 165 Primary Healthcare Facility (FKTP) clinics, 45 advanced healthcare facilities, and 43 hospitals throughout Indonesia. "All of this is to ensure the delivery of higher-quality healthcare services, open access, and ensure there are no misappropriations or fraud in financing." "We must be accountable for public funds to ensure quality services," Pujo said.

The series of activities began with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between BPJS Kesehatan and Padjadjaran University. The event was followed by the presentation of a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) on cardiac intervention assurance standards from the Quality Control and Cost Control Team (TKMKB).

The event concluded with the signing of an Integrity Pact.
