RRI.CO.ID, Bandung - The Vice Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, Dante Saksono Harbuwono, emphasized the importance of changing the public's mindset regarding health. He stated that health must be maintained through early detection, not just treatment when already ill.
The Vice Minister of Health made the statement while reviewing the Free Health Check (CKG) program for Gojek Online driver-partners at the GoTo office in Bandung on Tuesday, May 19, 2026. This program, a collaboration between the Ministry of Health and Gojek, targets 17 cities in Indonesia from February to December 2026.
Dante emphasized that routine check-ups are crucial for detecting risk factors for non-communicable diseases (NCDs), such as hypertension, diabetes, and heart disease, before they develop into serious conditions. "This step is a promotional and preventive effort by the government to detect diseases early," he said.
The GoTo Community Free Health Check program has been running since 2025. As of April 2026, 1,141 participants had been served in Jakarta and Palembang. In May 2026, the program expanded to Bandung, Semarang, Jakarta, Yogyakarta, and Surabaya, targeting 4,000 participants.
During the Bandung visit, driver-partners received comprehensive health services, including physical examinations, blood pressure, blood sugar, and lipid profiles, as well as eye, dental, and ear exams. Participants with certain risk factors also received EKG services, SADANIS (Skin-to-Skin) examinations for women, doctor consultations, and medication for diabetes and hypertension.
The Ministry of Health aims to reach 130 million Indonesians nationwide by 2026. Participants in the green category receive education on healthy lifestyles, while those in the yellow and red categories receive free medical treatment.
