RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Ministry of Forestry continues to accelerate digital transformation in forest governance thru the launch of the latest version of the Conservation Area Management Cooperation Information System (SIGMA KSDAE). This step is part of bureaucratic reform that supports more effective, transparent, and accountable public services, in line with President Prabowo Subianto's directive to strengthen digital-based governance.

The launch of SIGMA KSDAE was conducted by the Directorate of Conservation Planning during the Coordination Meeting on Planning and Cooperation for the Management of Nature Reserve Areas (KSA), Nature Conservation Areas (KPA), and Hunting Parks (TB) for the year 2026, held on July 15, 2026. The system was developed to support the management of conservation area cooperation in a more integrated and documented manner.

The Director of Conservation Planning, Ammy Nurwati, stated that the management of conservation areas cannot be carried out by the government alone, but requires collaboration with various stakeholders. Currently, there are 525 active cooperation agreements spread across 87 technical implementation units and regions throughout Indonesia, involving state-owned enterprises (BUMN), regional-owned enterprises (BUMD), ministries and agencies, local governments, the business world, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), community groups, and educational institutions.

"Through this update, SIGMA KSDAE integrates the entire cycle of cooperation management into one system, starting from new cooperation requests, changes, and extensions, field study processes, approval up to the Ministerial level, issuance of cooperation agreements, preparation of planning documents, activity implementation, monitoring and evaluation, to the termination of agreements," Ammy said in a written statement, Monday, July, 27 2026.

SIGMA KSDAE is an enhancement of the information system that was previously used as an internal monitoring instrument. The improvement was made based on the evaluation results of the implementation and input from various stakeholders to provide more adaptive, integrated services that support business processes in real time.

Ammy explained that the system also provides access to cooperation partners to monitor the progress of the agreement's implementation more transparently. "This system is expected to accelerate decision-making, strengthen coordination, enhance accountability, and encourage the timely and compliant implementation of cooperation agreements," she said.

The Ministry of Forestry considers the development of SIGMA KSDAE to be an important part of the digital transformation within the Directorate General of Natural Resources and Ecosystem Conservation (KSDAE). The system update is expected to strengthen the governance of conservation area cooperation while also improving the quality of service to all stakeholders.

Thru the digitalization of these services, the Ministry of Forestry aims for more effective, adaptive, collaborative, and accountable management of conservation areas. This effort also supports the acceleration of bureaucratic reform and the strengthening of public services in the forestry sector.
