RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Center for the Development of Forest Conservation Generations of the Ministry of Forestry, in collaboration with Green Generation Indonesia, successfully held the Forest Youthverse Summit 2026. The event titled "Biodiversity Action Camp: Youth Initiatives in Biodiversity Conservation" took place from 14–17 May 2026, on Pramuka Island, Thousand Islands.

This activity is designed as a collaborative ecosystem that connects the creative ideas of young people with real conservation actions. As many as 70 Forest Preservation Generations (Genries) from various regions in Indonesia actively participated in the four-day event.

Head of the Forest Conservation Generation Development Center, Luckmi Purwandari, underscored that the Forest Youthverse Summit is not just an ordinary camp, but a transformative learning space to build youth leadership in environmental conservation.

"The younger generation should not just be spectators of forestry issues. Young people must be the drivers of change, providing solutions, building collaborations, and taking concrete actions to preserve the future of Indonesia's forests and biodiversity," Luckmi stated in a written statement on Monday, 18 May 2026.

The series of activities is designed around the Connect, Explore, Create, and Impact approach, with the main agenda as follows:

  • Discussion & Innovation: Participants engage in an interactive talk show with the Thousand Islands National Park Authority and the DKI Jakarta Natural Resources Conservation Agency. Additionally, a Pitching Collaboration session was held, featuring 23 groups of young innovators presenting creative ideas related to green technology and waste management.
  • Field Action: At the peak of the event, participants engaged in mangrove planting (Mangrove Action), coral reef transplantation education (Coral Reef Education), sea turtle release (Sea Turtle Release), and waste management studies (Literacy & Waste Tour) on Pramuka Island.
  • Joint Commitment: The event concluded with a deep reflection session and a joint commitment declaration from the participants to become Biodiversity Innovators who drive conservation actions in their respective regions.

Through this commitment, Center for the Development of Forest Conservation Generations hopes that the alumni of the Forest Youthverse Summit 2026 will remain committed drivers of change in preserving the forests and biodiversity of Indonesia in the future.
