Indonesia’s 2026 Korpri Quran Contest Promotes Integrity Among Civil Servants

RRI.CO.ID, Makassar - The 2026 National Quran Recitation Competition (MTQ) of the Indonesian Civil Servants Corps (Korpri) in South Sulawesi is serving as a platform to strengthen religious values, integrity, and professionalism among civil servants across Indonesia. The event officially opened at Karebosi Field in Makassar on Monday, August 24, 2026, bringing together participants from various regions and higher education institutions.

Minister of Religious Affairs, Nasaruddin Umar, said the Korpri MTQ was not merely a competition to assess participants’ Quran recitation skills. He said the event also provides an opportunity for civil servants to understand and apply the values of the Quran in their daily lives and professional duties.

“The presence of all delegations is not merely about competing in Quran recitation,” Nasaruddin said during the opening series of the 2026 Korpri MTQ. He affirmed the importance of making the Quran’s values a guide in daily life and in carrying out responsibilities as public servants.

Chairman of the National Korpri Executive Board, Zudan Arif Fakrulloh, said the growing participation in the Korpri MTQ reflected increasing enthusiasm among civil servants. The number of delegations has risen from 33 in previous editions to 117 this year, with two higher education institutions also taking part.

The increase in participation demonstrates the growing commitment among civil servants to promote Quranic values within the public sector. Zudan also expressed hope that the Korpri MTQ will continue to expand by adding more competition categories and attracting broader participation.

The Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology is participating in the national event with 27 delegates from public and private universities. The delegates are competing in 15 categories at the 2026 Korpri MTQ.

Kemdiktisaintek’s participation is part of its efforts to strengthen spiritual and moral values among civil servants while providing opportunities for personal development. Beyond competition, the event also serves as a platform for networking and collaboration among civil servants from different institutions.

Through the gathering, participants are expected to exchange experiences, innovations, and best practices that can contribute to better public services. The 2026 Korpri MTQ therefore goes beyond religious competition, supporting the development of a professional, ethical, and public-oriented civil service in Indonesia.
