RRI.CO.ID, Soreang - The 2026 FIFA ASEAN Cup has provided tremendous economic opportunities for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises around Si Jalak Harupat Stadium in Soreang, West Java. These local vendors have successfully expanded their market reach and significantly increased their daily revenue by catering to large crowds of enthusiastic tournament spectators.
Around 20 MSMEs supported by RBUMN Telkom were seen operating on the eastern side of Si Jalak Harupat Stadium. They offered a variety of food and beverages to spectators, including donuts, chips, kebabs, and coffee.
One of the MSME operators, Elin Nurhalimah, said she was pleased to have the opportunity to sell her products during the 2026 FIFA ASEAN Cup. She also promoted her own product, Kripik Bonteng, a snack made from cucumber.
“Alhamdulillah, the 2026 FIFA ASEAN Cup event has been very helpful for MSMEs like us. Here, I sell snacks as well as my own product, Kripik Bonteng, which is made from cucumber,” Elin said.
According to Elin, the involvement of MSMEs in sporting events such as the 2026 FIFA ASEAN Cup can help increase family income. When visitor numbers are high, her daily sales revenue can reach between 500,000 and 1 million rupiahs.
“Alhamdulillah, the income is good. When it gets busy, the earnings can be quite significant. Our daily sales can reach between 500,000 and 1 million rupiahs. Moreover, we can operate our stand here for free,” she said.
Elin hopes that major sporting events such as the FIFA ASEAN Cup will be held more frequently in Indonesia, particularly at Si Jalak Harupat Stadium. She said such events provide opportunities for MSMEs to increase their income.
“I hope events like this will be held more often in Indonesia because they are very helpful for MSMEs like us,” she concluded.
