RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Batam, Riau Islands Province, is positioning itself as a rising hub for international health tourism investment, spotlighting its Special Economic Zone (SEZ) at Medical Fair Asia 2026 in Singapore.

The Batam Indonesia Free Trade Zone Authority (BP Batam) is strengthening promotion of the Batam International Health Tourism Special Economic Zone (SEZ) at Medical Fair Asia 2026 in Singapore.

BP Batam’s Director of Promotion and Investment Facilitation, Dendi Gustinandar, said the initiative marks a strategic moment to showcase Batam’s potential as a destination for health tourism investment in the regional market.

“We are leveraging Medical Fair Asia 2026 to highlight Batam’s strategic position, supported by its health tourism SEZ,” Dendi stated in an official release on Sunday, September 13, 2026, as quoted by Antara.

Medical Fair Asia is one of Southeast Asia’s leading international trade exhibitions, bringing together medical industry players, healthcare technology providers, and service operators from across the globe.

Organized by Messe Düsseldorf Asia Pte Ltd, the event runs from September 9–11, 2026, at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore. “This potential is offered to investors as part of developing an integrated and competitive health ecosystem in the region,” Dendi added.

Beyond promotion, Dendi also spoke at the “Market Entry Briefing: Indonesia” session, outlining business opportunities, investment prospects, and market potential in Indonesia’s healthcare sector, with Batam as a focal point.

He emphasized that Batam’s healthcare development aims not only to strengthen national services but also to position the city as a regional center for international-standard healthcare.

The initiative is expected to attract new investment, create jobs, enhance knowledge and technology transfer, and add value to Batam’s and Indonesia’s economy.

BP Batam’s hospital, RSBP Batam, also participated in the fair as part of ongoing efforts to reinforce Batam’s branding as a competitive, globally connected investment destination.

Through the Batam International Health Tourism SEZ, BP Batam seeks to draw high-quality investment that generates a multiplier effect across economic growth, tourism, supporting industries, and Batam’s competitiveness as a regional economic hub. ***
