RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Jakarta Provincial Government, in collaboration with the private sector, is once again organizing the Jakarta International Investment, Tourism, Trade and SMEs Expo (JITEX) 2026. JITEX 2026 will take place at Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo) Kemayoran from September 16–19, 2026.
The event, which brings together business players, investors, and buyers, is targeting potential transactions and investments of up to Rp16 trillion. A number of activities have been prepared, ranging from product exhibitions and business matching sessions to business and investment forums, as well as the signing of cooperation agreements between suppliers, buyers, and investors.
Chairman of the Asian Trade, Tourism, and Economics Council (ATTEC) and the Indonesian Shopping Center Retailers and Tenants Association (HIPPINDO), Budihardjo Iduansjah, said the Rp16 trillion target consists of potential investment and trade transactions.
“Our target is approximately Rp16 trillion this year. This comes from the investment potential that we hope to generate,” Budi said at a JITEX 2026 press conference at Balai Agung, Jakarta City Hall, Tuesday, September 1, as quoted by jakarta.go.id.
Budi conveyed that JITEX serves as a gateway for local products, including products developed under the Jakpreneur program, to enter modern retail networks and the business-to-business (B2B) market.
“ATTEC and HIPPINDO have networks with various supplier associations representing MSME players. We hope these networks can serve as a channel for local Jakarta products to enter modern retail, restaurants, as well as the food and beverage sector,” he said.
In addition to trade, JITEX provides a platform for exploring foreign investment opportunities. Several investment forums have previously been held in Guangzhou and Shenzhen, China. The results of these explorations will be brought to JITEX 2026 to connect prospective investors with business players in Indonesia.
“We hope they will be interested in establishing companies and doing business in Indonesia. We also hope they will purchase local products and bring investment into the country,” Budi said.
With the theme “Ignite the Economy,” JITEX 2026 is also aimed at strengthening Jakarta’s position as a driving force of the national economy. Budi said that Jakarta’s role as a center of trade and business means that economic activity in the capital can have an impact on other regions. “Jakarta is very central. Through ‘Ignite the Economy,’ we hope Jakarta can ignite economic growth,” he said.
Meanwhile, Deputy Coordinator of the Special Staff to the Governor of Jakarta, Yustinus Prastowo, said this year marks the third edition of JITEX and the first time the event has been organized by business associations without using funds from the Jakarta regional budget (APBD).
According to him, this model demonstrates that economic activities do not always have to depend on government funding. The impact of collaboration also needs to be measured, including through synergies among regional government agencies (OPDs), regionally owned enterprises (BUMDs), and the private sector.
