RRI.CO.ID, Tokyo – The Indonesian government has offered 32 strategic infrastructure projects worth Rp207.64 trillion or approximately US$13.16 billion to Japanese investors and business leaders. This offer was presented at the Indonesia–Japan Transportation and Infrastructure Business Forum and Business Matching 2026, held at the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) in Tokyo on August 27–28, 2026.

This strategic event was attended by 50 representatives from 36 prominent Japanese organizations, including Toyota Tsusho, Sumitomo Corporation, Obayashi, Shimizu, Penta-Ocean, Tokyu, JR East, Tokyo Metro, Mitsubishi Electric, Urban Renaissance Agency, Mizuho Bank, SMBC, JOIN, JICA, and JETRO. The presence of these investors highlights strong international confidence in Indonesia's economic stability.

Indonesia's Deputy Chief of Mission to Japan, Maria Renata Hutagalung, emphasized that the long-standing relationship between both nations has produced tangible benefits for the public. This partnership is showcased in major projects like the Jakarta MRT and Patimban Port.

“What sets Japanese investment in Indonesia apart has never been purely about money, but rather the quality of engineering, project completion discipline, technology and skills transfer to Indonesian workers, and a commitment to long-term partnership,” Deputy Chief Maria stated.

This approach underpins the 32 offered projects managed by nine state-owned and regional enterprises. The lineup includes 12 toll road and road projects, 10 property and residential developments, 6 railway and Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) projects, 2 port and logistics projects, and 2 steel fabrication facilities. Most of these initiatives involve operational assets with proven revenue track records.

Deputy for Business Coordination at the Indonesia's Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, Ferry Irawan, highlighted Indonesia's strong investment appeal despite global uncertainties. This growth is supported by a 5.61% economic growth rate in the first half of 2026 and stable inflation.

Through this forum, the Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo reaffirmed its readiness to support Japanese investors at every stage of exploration. Continuous assistance is expected to turn these opportunities into concrete business agreements for both countries.
