RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta — The Financial Services Authority (OJK) strengthened the ecosystem of Financial Sector Technology Innovation, Digital Financial Assets, and Crypto Assets through the staging of OJK Digination Day 2026 in Jakarta on Thursday, August 27, 2026. This strategic step was taken to bring stakeholders together to drive innovative, inclusive, and sustainable digital finance.
This strategic forum serves as an essential medium for aligning adaptive regulation, consumer protection, and risk management amid the rapid growth of the national digital finance industry. Strengthening governance remains the primary focus to provide legal certainty for both global and domestic investors.
OJK emphasized that all financial technology innovations are now an integral part of the national financial system, thus requiring equal oversight. Implementing strict risk management standards is expected to mitigate potential cybercrimes and maintain ecosystem stability.
“Digital financial innovation no longer stands on the sidelines or outside the financial system, but has become an integral part of it. The principle we hold is the same activity, same risk, same regulation. Governance, risk management, and consumer protection standards that apply to the financial sector also apply here without exception,” Vice Chairman of the OJK Board of Commissioners Hernawan Bekti Sasongko said.
To support the growth of startup industries, OJK also introduced the OJK Fintech Startup Accelerator program, featuring demo day and business matching sessions. This program is expected to facilitate funding needs and accelerate the downstreaming of homegrown technology innovations.
“Financial sector technology innovation, digital financial assets, and crypto assets also serve as new sources of financing that have the potential to address structural financing challenges in Indonesia. The use of digital financial innovation is also expected to drive financial inclusion, contributing to national economic growth,” Chairman of Commission XI of the Indonesian House of Representatives Misbakhun stated.
The growth of the digital financial asset market in Indonesia recorded a positive trend, with crypto asset transaction values reaching IDR 20.52 trillion or US$ 1.28 billion as of July 2026. Through cross-institutional synergy and measured regulations, Indonesia remains optimistic about becoming a leader in the regional digital financial ecosystem.
