  • Three online business matching events in June 2026 generated a total of USD 104,000 in potential export transactions from Indonesia to Chile for products like palm oil, coffee, and adult diapers.
  • The Ministry of Trade and local exporters hope these events will strengthen trade connections in Latin America and help Indonesian companies increase their overseas sales.

RRI.CO.ID, Santiago – The Ministry of Trade, through the Indonesia Trade Promotion Center (ITPC) in Santiago, facilitated three online business matching events in June 2026. According to a written press release received on Monday, August 3, 2026, this initiative successfully recorded potential export transactions totaling USD 104,000, equivalent to Rp1.87 billion, for the Chilean market.

This potential for non-oil and gas trade cooperation includes demand for palm oil, processed coffee products, and adult diapers from Indonesian exporters. This effort aims to expand the penetration of local products into the Latin American region through close coordination with the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Santiago.

The Director General of National Export Development at the Ministry of Trade, Fajarini Puntodewi, welcomed the enthusiasm of Chilean business operators toward Indonesian products. She stated that her office will continue to encourage business operators to participate in business matching events and become exporters.

“Business matching is one of the key strategies for connecting Indonesian businesses with potential buyers overseas while opening up opportunities for non-oil and gas exports to global markets. We continue to encourage businesses to participate in business matching events and become exporters,” Puntodewi said.

Meanwhile, Deputy Head of the ITPC Santiago, Tesa Listva Kusumawardani, explained that the largest potential transaction came from palm oil products valued at USD 46,000. “The initial purchase plans from each buyer will serve as an evaluation phase for product quality, price, supply capacity, and market response before increasing purchase volumes in the next phase,” Tesa stated.

Positive support was also expressed by the national exporters involved in the online business exploration event. Prudence Hardipura, International Business Manager at PT SMART Tbk, hopes that the support provided by ITPC Santiago and the Indonesian Embassy in Santiago will reopen the company’s export opportunities to Chile after they had been suspended for several years.

“The partnership with Grupo MTG is also expected to expand the market for Indonesian palm oil to other Latin American countries through its distribution network,” Prudence noted.
