RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - China, the United States (US), and India remained Indonesia's three main export destinations from January to June 2026, absorbing the largest portion of Indonesia's non-oil and gas exports, dominated by processed industrial commodities, minerals, and manufactured products.

Indonesia's Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) reported that the country's cumulative exports from January to June 2026 reached USD 140.81 billion.

“During the January–June 2026 period, Indonesia’s export value stood at USD 140.81 billion, an increase of 4.13% year‑on‑year compared to the same period in 2025,” BPS Deputy for Distribution and Services Statistics, Ateng Hartono, said in Jakarta on Monday, August 3, 2026, as quoted by Antara.

He explained that the main driver of export growth came from the manufacturing sector, which rose by 6.18 percent. Leading non‑oil and gas commodities also recorded gains, including crude palm oil (CPO) and derivatives with a 9.12 percent share of export value, and coal with 8.95 percent.

By destination, China remained the largest export market, accounting for 25.58 percent or USD 34.56 billion. Key non‑oil and gas products shipped to China included iron and steel, nickel and related goods, and mineral fuels.

The United States ranked second, with a share of 11.76 percent or USD 15.82 billion, dominated by electrical machinery and parts, footwear, and apparel. India placed third, with 6.87 percent or USD 9.25 billion, importing mineral fuels, animal/vegetable oils, and electrical machinery.

Meanwhile, Indonesia’s imports during January-June 2026 reached USD 137.24 billion, up 18.69 percent year‑on‑year, driven mainly by raw material imports, which contributed 13.15 percent.

As a result, Indonesia recorded a trade surplus of USD 3.58 billion in the first half of 2026. However, in June 2026 alone, the trade balance slipped into a USD 450 million deficit, with exports at USD 25.46 billion and imports at USD 25.91 billion. ***
