RRI.CO.ID, Cibinong - Eurokars Motor Indonesia, the authorized agent of Japanese automaker Mazda in Indonesia, officially inaugurated its first assembly facility in the country on Tuesday, July 28, 2026. The facility is located in Citeureup, Bogor Regency, West Java.

On its official website, Mazda Indonesia stated that the plant, named "Mazda Indonesia Plant," is part of the company's long-term investment strategy. The inauguration marks a new chapter in Mazda's journey in Indonesia since Eurokars Motor Indonesia was appointed as the brand's authorized agent in 2017.

"The presence of Mazda Indonesia Plant not only expands Mazda's manufacturing capabilities in Indonesia, but also serves as the foundation for delivering production quality that meets Mazda's global standards while creating added value for the national automotive industry," Mazda Indonesia said.

With an investment of more than Rp400 billion, Mazda built the assembly facility on a site covering nearly 65,000 square meters. The plant is equipped with production lines, quality validation areas, a dedicated test track, and various supporting facilities designed in accordance with Mazda Global Manufacturing Standards. In its initial phase, the facility will assemble the Mazda CX-30 as its first locally produced model, with an annual production capacity of more than 10,000 units through two-shift operations.

"Going forward, Mazda Indonesia Plant will serve as the foundation for the development of Mazda's manufacturing operations in Indonesia, from introducing new models and gradually increasing production capacity to strengthening collaboration with the domestic supporting industries," Chief Operating Officer of Eurokars Motor Indonesia, Ricky Thio, said.

"We want to ensure that this investment not only delivers vehicles of global quality, but also creates sustainable value for customers, communities, and Indonesia's automotive industry," he added.

Representing the Indonesian government, Director General of Metal, Machinery, Transportation Equipment, and Electronics Industries at the Ministry of Industry, Setia Diarta, welcomed the commencement of the facility's operations. He hoped that its presence would generate greater added value for the national economy by increasing domestic manufacturing activity, strengthening technology transfer, developing human resources, and expanding employment opportunities in the automotive sector.

"We hope this investment will become an important milestone in strengthening the competitiveness of Indonesia's automotive industry while further reinforcing the partnership between the Government and Mazda in realizing an advanced, competitive, and sustainable Indonesian automotive industry," Setia said.
