RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – Indonesia’s efforts to expand its export market in South Korea showed positive results throughout the first semester of 2026. According to a written press release issued on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, a total of 59 business matching sessions facilitated by the Indonesian Trade Attaché in Seoul successfully opened major trade opportunities.
The business matching activities served as a vital bridge connecting Indonesian business owners with potential foreign buyers. The Indonesian Ministry of Trade actively accompanied exporters through every step of negotiation until final transactions were completed.
Director General of National Export Development, Fajarini Puntodewi, emphasized the importance of this ongoing program for national products. She noted that these meetings are crucial to helping local businesses access international markets.
“Business matching is one of the key tools for expanding Indonesia’s access to export markets. Through Indonesia’s trade representatives, business operators are assisted in meeting with potential buyers, from the negotiation process through to the completion of transactions. We hope that more and more Indonesian products will be able to penetrate global markets and the South Korean market,” she said.
Out of the 59 business matching sessions, 12 were held online and 47 took place offline during major international trade festivals. These events directly yielded concrete export deals for several Indonesian businesses.
Indonesian Trade Attaché in Seoul Roesfitawati highlighted the growing confidence of South Korean buyers toward high-quality Indonesian commodities. She reaffirmed her commitment to assisting exporters in finalizing ongoing negotiations.
“South Korean businesses’ interest in Indonesian products continues to show positive growth. In addition to generating actual exports, a number of business matchmaking opportunities we have facilitated have also entered the advanced negotiation stage. We will continue to facilitate communication between Indonesian exporters and buyers so that these opportunities can quickly be turned into actual transactions,” Roesfitawati noted.
The success of these programs received high praise from participating local entrepreneurs who benefited from the direct matchmaking. Ahmad Hadi R. from CV Hortindo Agrokencana Farm shared his experience regarding the official guidance provided by the trade representatives.
“It was a huge help to be connected with a buyer in South Korea and to receive ongoing support until we successfully secured an order. Thank you for the guidance and the opportunity to be introduced to new potential buyers. We hope to continue receiving support to participate in food exhibitions in South Korea so that we can tap into even more market opportunities,” Harry said.
