RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Consumer confidence in Indonesia’s economic conditions remains in the optimistic range. Bank Indonesia (BI), based on the results of its Consumer Survey, reported that the Consumer Confidence Index (CCI) for June 2026 stood at 117.8.

This index is lower than the May 2026 index, which reached 120.9. However, this figure remains above the 100-point threshold, reflecting consumer optimism about the economy.

The Executive Director of BI’s Communications Department, Ramdan Denny Prakoso, explained that the sustained consumer confidence in June 2026 was supported by the Current Economic Conditions Index (IKE) and the Consumer Expectations Index (IEK), both of which remained at optimistic levels.

“The IKE and IEK stood at 109.2 and 126.4, respectively, although lower than the previous month’s indices of 112.2 and 129.7,” Denny said in a written statement in Jakarta on Wednesday, July 8, as quoted on BI’s official website.

Although both indices declined compared to the previous month, they continue to reflect a positive perception of current economic conditions and prospects.

BI noted that the positive perception of current economic conditions was supported by the Current Income Index (IPSI) at 119.8, the Job Availability Index (IKLK) at 101.8, and the Durable Goods Purchasing Index (IPDG) at 105.9. All three components remained in the optimistic zone despite experiencing month-over-month declines.

Meanwhile, consumer expectations regarding economic conditions over the next six months remain strong. This optimism is driven by expectations of an increase in income (index of 133.6), job availability (index of 124.4), and business activity prospects (index of 121.2).

By expenditure group, the highest level of optimism came from respondents with monthly expenditures above IDR 5 million (approximately USD 277.29), who recorded a CCI of 121.4. By age group, those aged 20–30 were the most optimistic, with a CCI of 124.3.

The survey also showed that the proportion of household income allocated to consumption rose to 73.0 percent in June 2026 from 72.3 percent the previous month. Meanwhile, the savings rate fell to 17.0 percent, while the ratio of installment payments to income remained relatively stable at 10.0 percent. ***
