RRI.CO.ID, Semarang – The Ministry of Trade has encouraged businesses in Central Java to use the 41st Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) 2026 as a gateway to expand their export markets. The call was made during a TEI 2026 outreach event in Semarang on Tuesday, June 30, 2026.

Director General of National Export Development, Fajarini Puntodewi, said TEI is not only a showcase for Indonesia’s leading products, but also a platform for businesses to connect with prospective buyers from various countries and create sustainable trade opportunities.

Director of Services and Creative Products Export Development, Ari Satria, said TEI 2026 would bring together Indonesian exporters and aspiring exporters with international buyers. He urged businesses to make the most of the event, from establishing trade contacts and securing contracts to realizing exports.

“We invite all businesses and stakeholders in Central Java to make the most of the 41st TEI. Let us show the world that Indonesian products are not merely present, but are competitive and sought after in the global market,” Ari said in an official statement.

The 41st TEI will take place on October 14–18, 2026, at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) BSD in Tangerang Regency, Banten. Carrying the theme The Ultimate Hub for Global Sourcing, the event reflects Indonesia’s ambition to strengthen its position as a global trade hub through quality, innovative products that meet international standards.

TEI 2026 will feature five product zones: food, beverages and agricultural products; manufactured products; industrial estates; fashion and crafts; and furniture and home décor. The event will also include business matching, business counseling, business forums, and trade agreement signings.

The Ministry is targeting more than 1,500 exhibitors, 8,000 international buyers, and 30,000 visitors. It is also aiming for USD17.5 billion in transactions, around 6 percent higher than the USD16.5 billion target set for the previous event.

By the end of June 2026, around 55 percent of the targeted exhibitors had registered. The figure shows strong interest from businesses seeking to expand their export markets, build international partnerships, and improve the competitiveness of Indonesian products.

Ari said the outlook for TEI 2026 is supported by Indonesia’s positive export performance. Non-oil and gas exports reached USD269.84 billion in 2025, while exports in the first quarter of 2026 stood at USD87.74 billion. Indonesia also recorded a USD5.64 billion trade surplus and has maintained a surplus for 72 consecutive months.

Central Java plays an important role in national exports, ranking 10th among Indonesia’s largest non-oil and gas exporters with exports valued at USD12.42 billion. Key products from the province, including footwear, bags, ignition wiring sets, air-conditioning equipment, and wooden furniture, have reached international markets.

The outreach event was attended by representatives from manufacturing, food and beverage, furniture, textile, pharmaceutical, and creative industries, along with trade officials from cities and regencies across Central Java. Banyumas Regency Trade Division Head Wiwid Wijayadi said TEI had helped local MSMEs gain valuable international exhibition experience and greater confidence to enter global markets.

“This year, we will participate in TEI 2026 again so that more Banyumas MSMEs can go global,” Wiwid said.
