RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian House of Representatives is finalizing deliberations on amendments to the Law on the Development and Strengthening of the Financial Sector (P2SK Law). The regulation is expected to be completed soon before being brought to a plenary session.
“We, together with the leadership of Commission XI and the Coordinator for Economic and Financial Affairs, are finalizing the P2SK Law,” Deputy Speaker Sufmi Dasco Ahmad said in Jakarta on Tuesday, June 2, 2026. He added that the finalization stage would continue on Wednesday, June 3, before the bill is submitted to the plenary.
Dasco explained that accelerating the deliberation is necessary to avoid a potential legal vacuum following the establishment of Danantara Indonesia under Law No. 1/2026 and related State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) legislation.
He noted that several provisions still need harmonization, including one concerning the Finance Minister’s role as a shareholder in SOEs. Dasco said the latest regulations no longer address this provision, while older laws still list the minister as a shareholder.
“For this reason, the House considers it necessary to harmonize regulations through an omnibus law framework that encompasses several key regulations, including the State Finance Law, the State Treasury Law, and the State Assets Law, which have been separated from the Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) Law,” he said.
Dasco stressed that regulatory harmonization is needed to prevent overlapping rules and ensure that financial sector policies operate in unison. “This must be resolved so that laws do not operate in isolation but are fully harmonized,” he said.
He expressed hope that finalizing the revision of the P2SK Law would serve as a foundation for strengthening the national financial sector. The regulation is also expected to support economic stability and improve SOE governance. (Gusti Panji)
