RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian Task Force for the Eradication of Illegal Financial Activities (Satgas PASTI) has once again uncovered suspected illegal schemes targeting the public. Appeninc, VID, and Sensenowai have had their operations suspended on suspicion of running scams disguised as investment programs and paid digital tasks.
Satgas PASTI halted the activities of these entities after finding indications of impersonation of foreign companies and suspicious investment practices. The methods included posing as licensed firms and crypto investment platforms through “member-get-member” recruitment schemes.
“Appeninc and VID required members to deposit funds and recruit new participants to earn daily income and bonuses,” said Satgas PASTI Secretariat Hudiyanto in Jakarta on Monday, March 30, 2026, as quoted by Antara.
Hudiyanto explained that Appeninc is suspected of misusing the name of Appen Inc., a legitimate company based in Colorado, United States. VID is suspected of impersonating Video Media Co. Ltd., a UK-licensed advertising agency that does not offer investments.
Verification results show that the business activities of both entities do not align with permits issued by the Indonesian Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming/Investment Coordinating Board. Their apps and websites are also not registered as Electronic System Operators (ESOs) with the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs.
Appeninc allegedly ran a scam through an image-guessing task app, while VID offered ad-watching tasks and fictitious project funding, promising daily profits.
Sensenowai is suspected of running an illegal crypto investment scheme via a copy-trading service on the Wapex app. The scheme required members to deposit funds and recruit new members to receive bonuses.
Satgas PASTI confirmed that access to the apps and related links will be blocked, and case handling will be coordinated with law enforcement. The public is urged to remain vigilant against investment offers promising unrealistically high returns and to report suspected fraud immediately.
Satgas PASTI is an inter-agency task force established by the Financial Services Authority (OJK) in collaboration with 16 ministries and agencies. It is authorized to eradicate illegal investments, online loan scams, and other forms of financial fraud. ***
