RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, announced new regulations regarding the export of Indonesia’s natural resources, which must now be conducted through a single gateway. Minister of Investment and Downstream Industry Rosan Roeslani revealed that the government, through Danantara, has established PT Danantara Sumber Daya Indonesia (DSI) as a follow-up to these directives.
At the Parliament Complex in Jakarta on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, President Prabowo officially announced the issue of a Government Regulation on the Management of Natural Resource Commodity Exports during a Plenary Session of the Indonesian Parliament. Through this Government Regulation, the Head of State emphasized that the export of natural resource commodities must now be conducted exclusively through state-owned enterprises assigned by the government as sole exporters.
“This government regulation is a strategic step to strengthen the governance of exports of our natural resources. All sales of our natural resources, starting with palm oil, coal, and ferroalloys, must be conducted through state-owned enterprises assigned by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia as sole exporters,” Prabowo said.
He stated that designating SOEs as marketing facilities for these export sales aims to strengthen oversight, eliminate under-invoicing practices, and optimize state revenue from the natural resources sector. Following the Plenary Session, during his press conference, Minister of Investment and Downstreaming Rosan Roeslani revealed that Danantara has already carried out this mandate.
Rosan stated, “We have established an entity, as mentioned earlier by the Coordinating Minister, named PT Danantara Sumber Daya Indonesia, through which we aim to emphasize transaction transparency.”
The President noted that similar policies have been successfully implemented by many countries, such as Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Russia, Malaysia, and Vietnam, examples of nations that have successfully leveraged their natural resources as a foundation for their people’s well-being. As an initial step, this one-stop policy will begin with three strategic commodities, which are palm oil, coal, and ferroalloys.
