RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - President Prabowo Subianto has issued Presidential Decree No. 4 of 2026 to establish a special task force aimed at accelerating government programs that support economic growth. The move is part of a broader strategy to strengthen national economic performance through coordinated and integrated policies.
“The task of this task force is to accelerate economic growth programs, such as economic packages, economic stimulus, government priority programs, and key programs across ministries and institutions based on the President’s direction," Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said as quoted from press release on Tuesday, April 28, 2026. He added that through strategic and integrated steps, it will also conduct monitoring and evaluation, as well as breakthroughs to take swift and decisive actions.
In its implementation, the task force will be divided into five working groups covering strategy formulation, program acceleration and debottlenecking, regulatory and institutional support, international trade and cooperation, as well as monitoring and evaluation. Each group is designed to address specific barriers and ensure smoother execution of economic initiatives.
During its inaugural meeting, the task force discussed several strategic issues directly affecting economic growth. One key measure includes providing incentives for LPG imports, particularly for the petrochemical industry, by reducing import duties to zero percent as an alternative to naphtha amid global supply constraints.
The government will also introduce temporary incentives for plastic raw materials by cutting import duties to zero percent for six months. These steps aim to maintain industrial productivity and competitiveness in the face of global disruptions, including tensions around the Strait of Hormuz.
In addition, the government plans to reform import licensing by simplifying procedures and improving transparency. This includes adjustments to technical considerations by the Ministry of Industry, policy revisions by the Ministry of Trade, and improvements to certification processes under the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) system.
“Regarding basic permits such as building approvals (PBG) and certificates of proper function (SLF), the Ministry of Public Works will standardize cd simplify processes, particularly for MSMEs and priority government programs. For land permits, there will be easier processing of spatial utilization approvals (KKPR) and digital detailed spatial plans (RDTR) integrated into the OSS system,” Airlangga said.
