RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The people’s bazaar at the National Monument (Monas) in Jakarta on Saturday, March 28, 2026, drew warm responses from micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) directly involved in the event. Vendors said they not only saw increased income from large orders but also felt joy in sharing free meals with the public during the Eid atmosphere.

A meatball vendor from West Jakarta, Fauzi, prepared more than 500 portions for distribution. “It’s extraordinary. Rarely do we get something like this," he said, as quoted on the Presidential Secretariate's official website.

"Usually, orders come from government offices, but this time, from President Prabowo, it’s really good. It helps MSMEs a lot,” he added.

Fauzi said that raw material prices remained stable during the holiday season. “There has been no significant increase in prices this Eid. Market prices are still stable,” he explained.

A rendang vendor from South Jakarta, Megawati, also received an order for 500 meal packages. Rendang is a traditional Indonesian dish from West Sumatra, made of beef slow‑cooked in thick coconut milk and a rich blend of spices until tender and flavorful.

Despite the sudden request and challenges in sourcing beef, she managed to fulfill the demand. “The preparation was very sudden. I had to call distributors, but they were closed, so I rushed to the market and found fresh meat. We stayed motivated,” Megawati said.

Megawati noted that the bazaar provided not only income but also promotional opportunities. “Hopefully, events like this will continue and also support MSMEs with additional capital,” she added.

A pempek vendor from Bintaro, South Jakarta, Shela, said the bazaar helped her keep her business capital flowing. Pempek is a savory fish cake originating from Palembang, South Sumatra, usually served with a sweet and sour vinegar‑based sauce called cuko.

“This really helps me to rotate my capital. It’s not just about big players," Shela said. "Small MSMEs like us need to be embraced, too. We don’t have big names like restaurants, but we are the ones who need support."

The bazaar at Monas distributed more than 100,000 shopping vouchers and 300,000 free meals prepared by around 800 MSME vendors. Beyond transactions, the event reflected collaboration between the government, MSMEs, and the public, with thousands of portions of food shared in the spirit of Eid. ***
