RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian Ministry of Creative Economy is taking steps to strengthen the competitiveness of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) ahead of Eid al-Fitr by expanding markets, enhancing branding, and improving product quality.

Deputy for Cultural Creativity and Design, Yuke Sri Rahayu, said the ministry’s interventions focus on accelerating business growth. “The Ministry is focusing its interventions on business acceleration, aiming to prepare creative economy actors and brands to increase product value-added, strengthen competitiveness, and expand market access,” Yuke said in Jakarta on Thursday, March 19, 2026, as quoted by Antara.

She noted that the fashion and culinary sectors hold significant opportunities during Ramadan and Eid, driven by increased social activities and public consumption.

In fashion, modern modest wear is gaining popularity as a symbol of identity and togetherness during the holiday. In the culinary sector, demand is rising for gift baskets, frozen foods, and innovative takjil (iftar snacks) packaged in premium designs.

To expand market access, the ministry is involving creative businesses in promotional events such as the 2026 Jejak Jajanan Nusantara Festival, the Imlek Festival, and Modest Luxe by Scarf Media. “Through these activities, creative economy businesses are given space to introduce their products, expand market networks, and boost sales amid rising consumption during Ramadan,” Yuke said.

The ministry is also supporting exhibitions, including Garis Poetih by Ivan Gunawan, Jagat Aroma for local perfume products, and the Alif Raya Market for Ramadan-themed fashion and lifestyle.

Strategic programs have been prepared to strengthen MSMEs, including the Acceleration of Indonesian Creative Exports (ASIK), the Packaging Design Workshop (Bedakan), and Cooking with Master Chefs (MASAMO). These initiatives aim to help creative businesses improve product quality, packaging, branding, and capacity building.

The ministry is also utilizing its social media account @ekraf.ri to increase exposure for local brands, broadening their reach and enhancing product appeal. ***
