RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – The government guarantees that subsidized fuel prices will not increase until Eid al-Fitr 2026. This decision was made amid a surge in global oil prices.

Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Bahlil Lahadalia, stated that the geopolitical situation in the Middle East has indeed triggered a global increase in crude oil prices. However, the government is working hard to ensure that these fluctuations do not directly burden the people, both in terms of supply and price.

"Indeed, if we look at the current global oil price, it has exceeded USD100 per barrel. This is a global condition caused by the impact of the war between Iran and Israel and the United States. The problem is, we are not currently facing a stock issue. There is no problem with stock, we have everything we need. We are now only facing a price issue," Bahlil conveyed after opening the 2026 Ramadan Bazaar at the Ministry’s office in Jakarta on Monday, 9 March 2026.

Although the situation is secure, the government is still preparing comprehensive measures to deal with global economic uncertainty. Bahlil said that at least energy distribution will remain smooth throughout the country until Eid al-Fitr 2026.

“We are currently exercising comprehensive measures. But once again, I assure the public that they need not worry about prices because fuel supplies are guaranteed until the holiday and, God willing, there will be no increase in subsidized fuel prices,” he said.

According to the Ministry’s website, the price of Brent and WTI crude oil has now exceeded USD100 per barrel. Despite mounting external pressure, the government continues to monitor international market movements on a daily basis in order to take appropriate policy measures.

As of March 10, the price of subsidized fuel such as Pertalite remains at Rp10,000. Bahlil urged the public to remain calm as the government guarantees that prices will remain stable and fuel supplies will remain available until Eid al-Fitr.
