RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian Ministry of Agriculture has released 545 tons of poultry products, valued at IDR 18.2 billion (approx. USD 1.07 million), for export to Singapore, Japan, and Timor Leste in stages until March 31, 2026. The exports reflect the national poultry industry’s self-sufficiency in chicken and eggs and its expansion into global markets.

Four companies are involved in the shipments. PT Charoen Pokphand Indonesia Tbk contributed the largest share, exporting 517 tons of table eggs, or about 8.13 million eggs, to Singapore, valued at IDR 15.90 billion. On March 3, the company sent an additional 41.3 tons of eggs, valued at IDR 1.2 billion.

PT Japfa Comfeed Indonesia Tbk exported six tons of processed chicken to Singapore, valued at IDR 1 billion, while PT Taat Indah Bersinar shipped 22 tons of processed chicken and carcasses to Timor Leste, valued at IDR 837 million. PT Malindo Food Delight entered the Japanese market with six tons of processed products, including nuggets and karaage, valued at IDR 271.3 million.

Agriculture Minister Andi Amran Sulaiman said Indonesia has achieved self-sufficiency in chicken and eggs and has a strong production capacity. “So now we are pushing exports to other countries,” he said at the export launch event at the ministry’s office in Jakarta on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, as quoted on the ministry’s official website.

Minister Amran noted that Indonesian poultry exports now reach ten destination countries. He emphasized that the success of exports demonstrates that Indonesia does not depend on imports of chicken.

He added that the government is working to ensure that increased production does not depress prices at the farmer level. Surplus output is absorbed domestically, including through the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program, and by expanding export markets.

Director General of Livestock and Animal Health, Agung Suganda, said the success of exports is supported by strengthened animal health systems and compliance with international food safety standards. “Every product exported has gone through a veterinary certification process and strict supervision in accordance with the requirements of the destination country,” he said.

Agung stressed that the government ensure that traceability, biosecurity, and food safety aspects are met to support sustainable exports. “We continue to strengthen technical communication with the veterinary authorities of partner countries,” he said, adding that consistency in quality is key to maintaining global market confidence. ***
