RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia’s financial markets rebounded on Tuesday, 3 February 2026, after recent volatility. This improvement was supported by positive developments in trade and rising investor confidence.

Recent trade data revealed a narrower trade surplus lower than previous months, while annual inflation eased to 3.55%, slightly below forecasts of 3.7%. While these numbers alone did not dramatically alter market performance, investors focused on leadership changes at the Financial Services Authority (OJK) and ongoing discussions between MSCI (Morgan Stanley Capital International) and Indonesia’s self-regulatory organizations (SROs). Positive outcomes from these meetings helped ease market pressures.

The Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG) opened lower at 7,888 but quickly recovered above 7,900, reflecting growing market confidence. Meanwhile, the Indonesian rupiah strengthened to 16,765 per US dollar amid rising US 10-year Treasury yields at 2.58% and a slight decline in the US Dollar Index to 97.46. Market analysts expect the rupiah to remain stable in the 16,740–16,780 range.

Global investor sentiment remains influenced by the US Federal Reserve transition, as President Biden announced a successor for Jerome Powell. Market expectations suggest the new Fed leadership may adopt a hawkish stance, which continues to shape short-term trading patterns.

Meanwhile, gold prices rebounded to $4,800 per troy ounce (approximately Rp2.6 million IDR per gram) amid geopolitical concerns in the Middle East. Analysts note that continued uncertainty could support further gains in gold as a safe-haven asset.

Indonesia’s market response demonstrates resilience, transparent communication, and proactive engagement with global financial institutions. These efforts show Indonesia’s commitment to stability and investor confidence, bolstering its appeal to global investors in global financial dialogue.
