KBRN, Jakarta: Indonesia’s strategic push to integrate its Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) into the global market achieved notable success at the Jakarta Muslim Fashion Week (JMFW) 2026.

Trade Minister Budi Santoso announced that MSME transactions during the four-day event reached USD 7.41 million as of 2:48 p.m. Jakarta time on Sunday, November 9, 2025.

The figure highlights the Trade Ministry’s commitment to transforming the annual fashion showcase into a key trade platform, particularly for smaller businesses seeking international exposure.

Minister Budi revealed the transaction data during the JMFW 2026 closing ceremony in Jakarta, emphasizing the event’s inclusive nature. “For your information, MSME transactions totaled USD 7.41 million,” he said, as quoted by Antara.

He reiterated the ministry’s intention to involve all business actors in JMFW, from large and medium enterprises to the smallest players, underscoring its alignment with the national export agenda.

“This includes exports, because we want to promote fashion exports not only by large companies, but also by small ones, by our MSMEs,” he explained.

Held from November 6 to 9, 2025, JMFW 2026 was organized by the Ministry of Trade in collaboration with the Indonesian Fashion Chamber (IFC). Far more than a runway show, the event served as a dynamic forum for the modest fashion industry to innovate, collaborate, and expand its global business network.

JMFW fulfilled a dual mission: showcasing the beauty of Indonesian traditional textiles (wastra) and local fashion trends as global inspiration, while also creating opportunities for young designers and MSMEs to elevate their businesses.

Minister Budi emphasized that JMFW is a comprehensive platform for trade and collaboration, successfully connecting designers, MSMEs, buyers, and supporting industry players.

Through this initiative, the ministry aims to demonstrate that Indonesia is not only rich in creativity but also globally competitive in producing value-added modest fashion products.

Under the theme “Essential Lab: Crafting the Future of Modest Fashion for Every Lifestyle,” JMFW 2026 championed innovation and collaboration within Indonesia’s modest fashion sector.

Minister Budi described “Essential Lab” as a creative laboratory, a platform for designers, MSME actors, and supporting industries to experiment, collaborate, and produce works that resonate with modern lifestyles while incorporating Indonesia’s cultural heritage to enhance value. ***
