KBRN, Jakarta: Indonesia recorded moderate inflation in October 2025 and a trade surplus in September 2025, driven by rising consumer prices and stronger exports, the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) reported on Monday, November 3, 2025.
The BPS reported that consumer prices rose 0.28 percent month-on-month (MoM) in October 2025, pushing the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from 108.74 in September to 109.04. On an annual basis, inflation reached 2.86 percent year-on-year (YoY), while year-to-date inflation stood at 2.10 percent, according to Deputy for Distribution and Services Statistics Pudji Ismartini.

“The CPI increased from 108.74 in September to 109.04 in October,” Pudji said at a press conference in Jakarta on Monday, as quoted by antaranews.com.
Meanwhile, Indonesia’s trade balance posted a surplus of 4.34 billion U.S. dollars (around IDR 72 trillion) in September 2025, driven by strong export growth. Exports totaled 24.68 billion dollars (IDR 411 trillion), up 11.41 percent YoY, while imports amounted to 20.34 billion dollars (IDR 339 trillion).
“The trade surplus was mainly supported by rising non-oil and gas exports,” Pudji added.
The data indicate that Indonesia’s economy is maintaining price stability while benefiting from healthy external trade, signaling resilience amid global economic uncertainties. ***
