KBRN, Jakarta: Indonesia’s non-oil and gas exports grew by 8.96 percent in the first half of 2025, reaching USD 128.39 billion, driven by increased global demand and supported through initiatives like Trade Expo Indonesia, where transactions totaled USD 22.8 billion, the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (HIPKA) announced on Thursday, October 23, 2025.
Speaking at the anniversary event of HIPKA held at the Trade Ministry office in Jakarta on Thursday, October 23, 2025, Kamrussamad, Chairman of the Central Executive Board (BPP) of HIPKA, highlighted that non-oil and gas exports reached USD 128.39 billion in the first half of 2025, up from USD 117.83 billion during the same period in 2024. For the full year of 2024, Indonesia’s cumulative non-oil and gas exports totaled USD 248.83 billion.
He also pointed to strong international market interest as reflected in transactions during the recent Trade Expo Indonesia, where deals amounted to USD 22.8 billion.
“This demonstrates Indonesia’s ongoing push for downstream processing across its product sectors,” he said, as quoted by antaranews.com.
He emphasized that downstream processing efforts should extend beyond the mineral and coal sectors to agriculture and other industries, which continue to see growing market opportunities. Products such as food, handicrafts, and fashion were among the sectors contributing to Indonesia’s export earnings.
To support this growth, HIPKA is actively collaborating with the Trade Ministry to promote exports from micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and young entrepreneurs.
Beyond partnerships with the Trade Ministry, Kamrussamad expressed hopes for cooperation with state-owned enterprises (BUMN) and other economic stakeholders to improve supply chain access and joint financing.
“HIPKA also continues to strengthen ties with universities and research institutions to foster business innovation based on technology,” he concluded. ***
