KBRN, Pangkalpinang: Indonesian Customs and Excise in Pangkalpinang, Bangka Belitung Islands, facilitated the export of 4,750 packages of catappa leaves to the United Kingdom by PT Central Charcoal Babelindo (CCB).
Pangkalpinang Customs and Excise Head Mochammad Munif mentioned that this assistance is part of the agency's initiative to support industries and serve as a trade facilitator.
Customs and Excise is dedicated to streamlining services, offering regulatory assistance, and providing training and development for local MSMEs, aiming to improve product quality and global competitiveness.
Munif emphasized that this support aligns with the Indonesian Finance Ministry's policy directive under Decision No. 396/KMK.01/2022, which outlines the Synergy Program for the Empowerment of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
"PT Central Charcoal Babelindo, a Pangkalpinang-based company, specializes in producing dried catappa leaves," Munif explained on Friday, June 13, 2025. "Catappa leaves offer several benefits, including improving fish health, controlling algae growth, and stabilizing water pH and quality."
PT CCB has successfully exported its products multiple times. In May, in collaboration with Pangkalpinang Customs and Excise Office and PT Pos Indonesia Pangkalpinang, PT CCB shipped 13,750 dried catappa leaves to the United Kingdom and the United States.
PT CCB Director Lukman Nuhung expressed excitement over the positive reception of the international market.
"Our products have met the demands of the international market, and this success is the result of collaborative support from various stakeholders," Lukman said. ***
