TNI AU-RTAF Hold 16th Air Force Working Group

KBRN, Jakarta: The Indonesian Air Force (TNI AU) and the Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF) held the 16th Air Force Joint Working Group (AFJWG) meeting in Bali, Wednesday (30/7/2025). This annual forum is a strategic tool in strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two air forces, as well as expanding cross-sector collaboration in the field of air defense.

In a Press Release received by RRI VOI, Thursday (31/7/2025), the Indonesian Air Force delegation was led by Operational Assistant of Indonesian Air Force Chief of Staff, Rear Marshal Suliono, accompanied by other Air Force officials. Meanwhile, the RTAF delegation was led by Air Marshal Prapas Sornchaidee as Deputy Chief of the Air Staff for Civil and Special Affairs along with a number of middle officers from various RTAF units.

In this meeting, the two parties discussed a number of areas of cooperation, ranging from the exchange of official visits, education and training, exchange of intelligence information, Subject Matter Expert Exchange (SMEE) activities, to joint exercises such as Elang Thainesia and other bilateral exercises. The whole discussion aims to improve capabilities and interoperability in responding to regional dynamics.
