Gita Bahana Nusantara Showcases Indonesia’s Cultural Diversity

RRI.CO.ID, Bogor - Indonesia’s Minister of Culture, Fadli Zon, highlighted the role of music and cultural diversity in strengthening national unity at the Gita Bahana Nusantara 2026 Independence Concert in Bogor, West Java, Tuesday, 11 August, 2026. The concert was held as part of celebrations marking Indonesia’s 81st Independence Day on August 17.

The concert took place at the Archery Field of Pakansari Stadium and featured 182 selected young performers from 30 provinces across Indonesia. The participants consisted of talented young people, including students and university students, who were selected to represent Indonesia’s diverse artistic and cultural potential.

He praised the participants for their performances and said Gita Bahana Nusantara is an integral part of Indonesia’s Independence Day celebrations. “Gita Bahana Nusantara is an inseparable part of the 2026 celebration of the Proclamation of Indonesian Independence,” Fadli said.

The minister said the program demonstrates that Indonesia has a wide range of young artistic talents spread across the country. He also highlighted the participation of around 60 musicians who performed alongside the young singers.

Fadli emphasized that Indonesia’s cultural diversity should be viewed as a source of strength rather than a threat. “Diversity, differences, and our cultural richness are not threats, but a unifying strength, a binding power, as we are proving tonight through Gita Bahana Nusantara,” he said.

The concert was presented in four segments featuring a selection of Indonesian national and popular songs, including Indonesia Raya, Hari Merdeka, Rayuan Pulau Kelapa, Rahasia Hati, and Mirasantika. The program also featured a medley of traditional songs from various regions, showcasing Indonesia’s musical and cultural diversity.

Through the performances, Gita Bahana Nusantara 2026 sought to promote nationalism while encouraging greater appreciation of Indonesia’s cultural heritage among younger generations. The program also provided a platform for young performers from different regions to come together through music.

Fadli Zon expressed hope that Gita Bahana Nusantara 2026 would inspire audiences to appreciate the messages and values contained in the songs performed by the young musicians. He also hoped the participants would deliver an outstanding performance before President Prabowo Subianto and the Indonesian public during the August 17 Independence Day celebrations.
