RRI.CO.ID, Denpasar - A spectacular artistic collaboration wrapped in an environmental conservation message officially opened the Denpasar Youth Festival (D'Youth Fest) 6.0 in Denpasar, Bali, on Sunday, 12 July 2026.
The centerpiece performance, Regrowing Amid the Ruins of the Universe, featuring the Ogoh-ogoh elephant by Banjar Taensiat’s ST Yowana Saka Bhuwana alongside Palawara Music Company and Manubada Art, captivated audiences while highlighting the urgency of protecting nature.
Denpasar Mayor, I Gusti Ngurah Jaya Negara, said D'Youth Fest 6.0 serves as a stage for young creative talents and as a platform to develop innovations that support the city’s development. The festival provides a forum for youth to channel ideas, creativity, and potential; it encourages them to produce work that adds value and raises competitiveness.
“D'Youth Fest gives young people room to take action, provoke reaction, and create. This moment strengthens optimism among Denpasar’s youth to become more creative and competitive,” the mayor said on Sunday, 12 July 2026, as quoted by Antara.
He added the festival also recognizes creative works by young people and supports the development of Dharma Negara Alaya (DNA) and Plaza Suci as Denpasar’s creative economy hubs. The city administration expects the festival to open more opportunities for youth development and to stimulate the creative economy.
D'Youth Fest 6.0 opened with a striking collaboration, which are the Ogoh-ogoh elephant by ST Yowana Saka Bhuwana Banjar Taensiat, paired with Palawara Music Company and Manubada Art, in a performance titled Regrowing Amid the Ruins of the Universe. The show blended traditional arts, a large-scale dance ensemble, and environmental conservation messaging aligned with the festival theme, Feel The Growth.
Head of Denpasar’s Tourism Agency, Luh Putu Ryastiti, said the festival program involves dozens of creative communities and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). The collaboration also features local and national musicians to strengthen the creative economy ecosystem.
Beyond expression, the festival promotes environmental awareness through integrated waste-management measures during the event.
With a spirit of collaboration, D'Youth Fest 6.0 is expected to remain a birthplace for youth creativity that reinforces Denpasar’s identity as a culture-based creative city and drives sustainable growth in the local creative economy. ***
