RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The 2026 Dieng Culture Festival (DCF) invites international visitors to experience the unique culture and traditions of the Dieng Plateau during the annual festival. It will take place from August 28 to 30, 2026, in the Dieng Highlands of Central Java.

Speaking in an interview with RRI Voice of Indonesia, Dieng Culture Festival 2026 Public Relations Officer, Aan Prihandaya, said the community-based cultural festival has been promoted internationally and regularly attracts visitors from around the world.

"Dieng Cultural Festival is an internationally promoted event and regularly attracts foreign visitors. For 2026, it's positioned as one of Indonesia's flagship tourism events on the national calendar," Aan said.

He explained that the festival encourages visitors to actively participate in its cultural activities rather than simply observe them. "Its essence is community-based cultural tourism, and we view every visitor not as a mere spectator but as part of the festival's extended family," he said.

For first-time visitors, Aan advised wearing warm clothing, as nighttime temperatures during the festival can drop to around 1–2 degrees Celsius, particularly during the lantern release and the Jazz Atas Awan or Jazz Above the Clouds concert.

He also reminded visitors to respect the sacred Ruwatan Anak Berambut Gimbal ritual by refraining from taking intrusive photographs without the consent of the children's families. The ritual is a traditional ceremonial cutting of naturally occurring dreadlocked hair in children, which is regarded as sacred by the local community.
