Ministry of Creative Economy and DAYA Explore collaboration

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Minister of Creative Economy/Head of the Creative Economy Agency, Teuku Riefky Harsya, received an audience from DAYA Indonesia to discuss collaboration opportunities to strengthen the national music ecosystem, including plans to organize the DAYA Music Festival of Indonesia (DMFOI).
According to the Ministry, music festivals have significant potential to drive the growth of the creative industry while creating jobs for young talent.
The Minister during an audience at Autograph Tower Thamrin Nine, Jakarta, Friday, 6 March 2026, added that the Ministry is open to collaboration with various parties who share a similar vision for developing the creative industry, including through organizing music festivals.
Indonesia is considered to have a large young creative population, a rich traditional musical heritage, a growing modern music industry, and growing global interest in culture from Sabang to Merauke.
Initiated by the DAYA Indonesia Performing Arts Academy, DMFOI is ready to bridge industrial education, cultural preservation, and musical instrument manufacturing within a unified festival architecture.
According to a release received by RRI Voice of Indonesia on Saturday, 7 March 2026, the Ministry of Creative Economy will continue to open up opportunities for discussion and collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure the music subsector can develop sustainably and become a vital pillar of Indonesia's creative economy.
Through this audience, it is hoped that more concrete cooperation will be established between the government and the creative community in encouraging music activities that are not only artistic but also have economic impact on the community.
At the meeting, Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky was accompanied by the Director of Music, Mohammad Amin; the Director of Fine and Performing Arts, Dadam Mahdar; and the Minister's Expert Staff, Gemintang Kejora Mallarangeng. The DAYA Indonesia team included Administrative and Program Officer, Hilman Darmawan.
