RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Flobamorata Creative Expo (FCE) 2026 in Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), became a stage for promoting the region’s weaving, culinary, and coffee products, while spotlighting the importance of intellectual property protection for local artisans.
Bank Indonesia Governor Destry Damayanti, speaking at the expo on Saturday, October 3, 2026, emphasized that copyright safeguards for traditional weaving motifs are crucial to protect craftsmen and enhance the economic value of NTT’s cultural heritage.
She noted that intellectual property rights ensure tenun is not only preserved as part of Indonesia’s cultural wealth but also generates broader economic benefits and reaches wider markets.
“The diversity of local products -- from weaving to coffee and culinary specialties -- holds significant economic potential that must be developed optimally,” Destry said, as quoted by Antara, underscoring the role of regional excellence in strengthening NTT’s economy.
Acting Deputy for Micro Enterprises at the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), Reghi Perdana, added that boosting MSME capacity must go hand in hand with market awareness, quality standards, and sustainable partnerships.
“We want MSMEs not only to produce but also to understand consumer needs, deliver quality products, and connect with supply chains. Market access must be central to MSME development,” he explained.
Reghi stressed that access to buyers, financing, export opportunities, and supply chains is essential to ensure quality improvements translate into real transactions and business growth. Strengthening MSMEs, he said, requires more than production. It also demands clear pathways to markets and consumer demand.
Through collaboration among the central and regional governments, Bank Indonesia, financial institutions, businesses, and stakeholders, the ministry hopes more NTT products will meet consumer standards, enter wider supply chains, and compete in both national and global markets. ***
