RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The sacred heirloom parade procession (Kirab Pusaka) took center stage as the focal highlight of Trenggalek Regency's 832nd anniversary celebrations in East Java, drawing thousands of residents along its historical route.
Held on Monday, August 31, 2026, the ancestral ritual served as both a cultural centerpiece and a spiritual anchor for the regency. The ceremonial sequence commenced two days prior with the penjamasan (ritual cleansing) of ancient heirlooms, followed by the bedol desa (moving) procession to Kamulan Village Hall, the home of the historic Kamulan Inscription that marks Trenggalek's founding.
Simultaneously, royal heirlooms parade held by Trenggalek Regent Mochammad Nur Arifin were paraded to Karangrejo Village Hall in Kampak Subdistrict before returning to the Manggala Praja Nugraha Pavilion. Beyond its visual spectacle, civic leaders highlighted the procession as a powerful symbol of community unity and a collective prayer for protection against natural disasters, drought, and economic hardship.
Legislators and regional leaders emphasized that elevating the Kirab Pusaka as a cultural highlight reinforces regional heritage while invigorating public solidarity for local development. Member of DPR Commission VII and Chairperson of TP PKK Trenggalek Novita Hardini highlighted the deep spiritual significance of the heirloom parade.
"This procession is not merely a celebration, but a spiritual step to offer prayers so that Trenggalek is protected from harm, disasters, drought, and poverty," Novita said in a written release on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, as quoted by Antara.
She further expressed her aspiration for the regency's collective future following the milestone milestone event. "My hope is that this 832nd anniversary instills renewed spirit among all Trenggalek residents to welcome a better future," she added.
Highlighting the public turnout along the ceremonial route, she emphasized the value of direct engagement with local residents.
"Alhamdulillah, this time the tradition to parade around and greet the community was carried out once again. The enthusiasm of the residents was extraordinary, may this energy serve as a shared strength to build Trenggalek, reinforcing mutual cooperation and optimism to achieve a more prosperous and enduring region," Novita remarked. ***
