RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Founded in Jayapura in 2022 by Sukma Ayu Mayangsari, PT MJEthnic Craft Indonesia has expanded from a modest online boutique into an international distributor of authentic Papuan and Indonesian micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) products.
By empowering local artisans, particularly women, and allocating 2.5 percent of sales revenues to support underprivileged communities in Papua, the enterprise integrates local cultural preservation with social entrepreneurship. Through participation in the Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) Peduli Export Training Program, the business gained crucial training in international trade regulations, global market research, export documentation, and international product branding.
Today, PT MJEthnic Craft Indonesia exports traditional crafts, fashion accessories, and specialty food items to clients across Australia, the Netherlands, Uzbekistan, Italy, Malaysia, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
Corporate leaders and social entrepreneurs highlighted that combining grassroots artisan empowerment with targeted export education enables regional MSMEs to build sustainable global competitiveness. Founder and Director of PT MJEthnic Craft Indonesia Sukma Ayu Mayangsari emphasized the practical impact of export training on business expansion.
"The BRI Peduli Export Training enriched my knowledge and insights into the export world. In addition, I also got the opportunity to expand my network with peers from various regions in Indonesia, I deeply appreciate BRI's commitment and consistency in guiding local business actors to level up and break into international markets," Sukma said in Jakarta on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, as quoted by Antara.
BRI Corporate Secretary Dhanny reaffirmed the state-owned bank's commitment to building sustainable export capabilities for local enterprises. "The story of Sukma Ayu Mayangsari with PT MJEthnic Craft Indonesia serves as an example that when the determination of MSME actors meets the right learning access, opportunities to grow and reach international markets become increasingly open," Dhanny noted. ***
