Paliwang pitched a wide range of strategic investment opportunities to over a dozen foreign ambassadors and diplomatic representatives from key partner nations, including Singapore, Australia, China, India, the Netherlands, and Brunei Darussalam.
The investment presentation took place during the Business Investment Forum at the Indonesian Employers Association (Apindo) 2026 National Working and Consultation Meeting in Makassar on Tuesday, August 4, 2026.
Highlighted projects include green energy initiatives, anchored by the Mentarang and Kayan River Hydroelectric Power Plants (PLTA) boasting a combined 9,000 MW capacity to power the Indonesian Green Industrial Estate (KIHI), alongside a toll road linking Tanjung Selor to the new capital city, Nusantara (IKN).
Regional authorities emphasized that North Kalimantan’s proximity to Malaysia and the Philippines. As a developing province, he added, North Kalimantan also offers investment opportunities with relatively low competition.
Regional executive leaders and business association officials stressed that establishing global investment partnerships will accelerate regional infrastructure and sustainable industrial downstreaming.
"As a developing province, North Kalimantan offers investment opportunities with minimal market competition, when investors enter early and show serious intent, we as the regional government are ready to provide full assistance for all administrative processes. Through this business matching forum, we hope to build strategic partnerships with national and global investors to drive regional development and economic growth," he said in Tanjung Selor on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, as quoted by Antara.
Secretary of Apindo North Kalimantan, Sherly, expressed appreciation for the provincial government's proactive diplomatic engagement.
