RRI.CO.ID, Denpasar - The Denpasar City Administration continues to foster growth in the creative economy through the Denpasar Tattoo Fest 2026, held as part of D'Youth Fest 6.0 at the Dharma Negara Alaya (DNA) Exhibition Hall in Denpasar, Bali, on Friday–Saturday, July 24–25, 2026. The festival served as a collaborative space for tattoo artists while reinforcing Denpasar’s position as a creative city open to diverse forms of artistic expression.
Denpasar Deputy Mayor, I Kadek Agus Arya Wibawa, who attended to inspect the festival, praised the event’s organization. He said the Denpasar Tattoo Fest demonstrates the administration’s commitment to providing space for the growth of creative economy subsectors, including tattoo art, which is increasingly accepted as part of urban culture.
During the visit, Arya Wibawa was accompanied by the Head of Creative Economy Development at Denpasar City’s Tourism Agency, AA Ngurah Mahendra. The two toured artists’ booths, spoke with participants, and observed the tattoo-creation process firsthand.
Arya Wibawa said that the Denpasar City Administration is committed to opening space for creative industry players to create, collaborate, and expand networks. He added that tattoo art is a form of artistic expression with cultural value and growing economic potential.
“We appreciate the Denpasar Tattoo Fest as a platform for tattoo artists’ creativity. Through events like this, the public can view tattoos from artistic and creative-economy perspectives. We hope this festival will strengthen the creative economy ecosystem and become a new attraction within Denpasar’s urban cultural dynamics,” said Arya Wibawa on Saturday, July 25, 2026.
Meanwhile, Chairperson of the Denpasar Tattoo Fest 2026 Organizing Committee Putu Agus Eka Prasantika, said the festival offered more than competitions, but also an educational forum to reduce negative stigma around tattoo art. The program also connected tattoo artists with the public through various creative activities.
He said the Denpasar Tattoo Fest 2026 featured about 20 tattoo artists from across Indonesia and abroad. In addition to tattoo exhibits, the festival included talk shows, street photography, musical performances, and a performance by Robby Navicula.
“We hope this festival can continue sustainably as a space for appreciation and development of the tattoo industry in Denpasar,” he said.
More than a contest, the Denpasar Tattoo Fest provided a collaborative platform for tattoo industry players, creative communities, and audiences who appreciate alternative art. Organizers expect the festival to strengthen the creative economy ecosystem and further affirm Denpasar’s role as an inclusive, innovative, and adaptive creative city in the face of contemporary artistic trends.
