RRI.CO.ID, West Lampung - Amid the large potential of West Lampung’s robusta coffee, the Coffee School is being promoted as a new educational-tourism magnet. Through program innovation and more engaging learning experiences, the local administration hopes the destination will attract more visitors while raising the profile of local coffee.

More than a training center for farmers, the Coffee School is now positioned as a primary showcase and the public face of West Lampung as a national robusta producer.

West Lampung Regent, Parosil Mabsus, recognizes the importance of regional branding. He therefore urged all managers to maintain service quality to create a strong first impression for investors and out-of-area tourists.

“I ask the Plantation Service together with related regional agencies to keep innovating. Create attractive programs, creative educational activities, and events that draw people to the Coffee School,” said Regent Parosil in a phone interview from South Lampung on Tuesday, 14 July 2026.

He said the Coffee School is a regional icon that serves as a center for learning about coffee. It also showcases West Lampung's robusta coffee potential, which must continue to be developed so it becomes better known to the public and tourists.

“The Coffee School is a pride of West Lampung Regency. This place is not only a facility for learning about coffee, but also the face of the region in introducing the quality of our robusta. Its existence must be maintained and developed so more locals and tourists visit,” he said, as quoted by Antara.

Regent Parosil believes that comprehensive facilities must be matched by continuous program renewal so visits increase and provide positive economic impacts for residents.

“Don’t let well-maintained facilities just run ordinarily. There must be updates so visitor numbers keep rising and the economic benefits reach the community,” he said.

He also reminded all Coffee School staff to maintain service quality for every visitor. According to him, friendly service, clean surroundings, and well-kept facilities are key to creating a memorable experience.

“Care for these facilities as if they were your own. Ensure cleanliness is maintained, look after every facility well, and provide friendly, prompt, and professional service to all visitors,” he urged.

He added that the Coffee School’s success is not measured by facilities alone. Service quality and the ability to deliver engaging educational experiences are crucial to encouraging repeat visits by locals and tourists to West Lampung.

Currently, West Lampung Regency is the largest robusta coffee producer in Lampung Province, with about 55,000 hectares of land all managed by local communities. Annual production in the region averages more than 50,000 to 60,000 tons of coffee beans. ***
