RRI.CO.ID, Tanjungpinang - The Central Tanjungpinang Immigration Detention Center (Rudenim Pusat Tanjungpinang) in the Riau Islands Province has officially deported two Nigerian nationals, identified by their initials CEA and FEA, following severe immigration violations. The individuals were expelled from the country after breaching national stay-permit protocols.

The two foreigners violated Indonesian immigration laws by overstaying their residency permits for a duration exceeding 60 days. This specific violation is strictly regulated under Article 78, Paragraph (3) of Law Number 6/2011 concerning Immigration.

"Based on these provisions, foreigners whose stay permits have expired and who remain in Indonesian territory for more than 60 days may be subject to administrative immigration action in the form of deportation and detention," Head of the Tanjungpinang Central Immigration Detention Center, Rakha Sukma Purnama, clarified in Tanjungpinang on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, as quoted by Antara.

The deportation process was officially executed on Thursday, May 28, 2026. Both Nigerian nationals were escorted and repatriated back to their home country through Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang, Banten, with Nigeria as their final destination.

Rakha noted that the physical expulsion of non-compliant foreigners is a critical component of rigorous immigration law enforcement. The measure directly aligns with the strategic commitments of the Immigration for the People initiative, which serves as the policy framework spearheaded by the Director General of Immigration, Hendarsam Marantoko.

According to the agency's management, this civic-minded approach relies equally on providing premium public services and maintaining highly consistent legal oversight. "Compliance with immigration regulations is an important part of maintaining order, legal certainty, and a sense of security for the community," Rakha explained.

The administrative processing for the two individuals was fully completed prior to their departure. Detention center authorities ensured that all essential bureaucratic criteria and travel documents were verified, including managing intense cross-border coordination with the Embassy of Nigeria.

By carrying out this operation, the Central Tanjungpinang Immigration Detention Center reaffirms its commitment to executing its supervisory and punitive functions in a professional, accountable, and humane manner. This ongoing legal enforcement serves the ultimate goal of upholding state sovereignty.

It guarantees that the presence of all foreign nationals within Indonesian territory continues to provide tangible benefits to the country while operating entirely in line with active statutory laws and regulations. ***
