RRI.CO.ID, Kebumen - Police in Kebumen, Central Java, seized more than 76,000 illegal prescription pills during a Friday night operation on April 24, 2026. The 90‑minute raid, carried out by the regency’s narcotics unit, led to the arrest of three men who have since been named suspects.
Kebumen Police Chief I Putu Bagus Krisna Purnama said the case was uncovered following a public tip, pursued through intensive investigation. “Three suspects were arrested at different locations. All have now been charged and are undergoing further legal proceedings,” he told reporters on Tuesday, April 28.
The first suspect, MRK, 42, a resident of Kebumen subdistrict, was caught with 312 pills and IDR 1.65 million in cash. The second, AHA, 24, from North Aceh, was arrested in Tamanwinangun with 70,543 pills and IDR 6 million. The third, MK, 24, also from North Aceh, was detained in Klepusanggar village, Sruweng subdistrict.
Police are still investigating their roles in the distribution network. Authorities said the seized drugs included Yarindo, Hexymer, Tramadol, Trihexyphenidyl, and Dextromethorphan -- all classified as hard drugs in Indonesia. Misuse without medical supervision can cause neurological disorders, hallucinations, addiction, and even death.
Head of the Kebumen Narcotics Unit, AKP Kismanto, revealed the suspects admitted the stock was intended for one month of distribution. “This is alarming. Students are being targeted as consumers. We will continue enforcement and prevention efforts to protect the younger generation,” he said.
The suspects have been charged under Article 435 in conjunction with Article 138 of Law No. 17/2023 on Health, applied together with provisions of the Indonesian Criminal Code (KUHP).
