RRI.CO.ID, West Lombok - Passenger and vehicle mobility on the Lombok-Bali crossing route has begun to increase ahead of the long Nyepi and Eid al-Fitr holidays of 2026. The West Nusa Tenggara Provincial Administration recorded an increase in transportation activity of around 20 percent in the Lembar Port area, West Lombok.

West Nusa Tenggara Governor Lalu Muhamad Iqbal said that the increase was particularly noticeable in motorcycles and private vehicles arriving from outside the region to Lombok.

"The increase is most visible in motorcycles and private vehicles arriving from outside the region," Iqbal said while inspecting the crossing traffic at Lembar Port on Sunday, March 15, 2026, as quoted by Antara.

Most arrivals to Lombok originate from Padangbai Port in Karangasem Regency, Bali. Meanwhile, departures from Lombok are expected to increase after the Eid al-Fitr celebrations.

Due to the proximity of the Nyepi celebrations in Bali, the provincial administration has prepared special arrangements for sea crossing schedules amidst this increased mobility. These adjustments are intended to allow Hindu religious activities to proceed solemnly while maintaining smooth transportation flows.

According to regulations announced by the regional administration, crossings from Lombok will close on March 18 at 9:00 a.m. and reopen on March 20 at 4:00 a.m. Bali time. Crossings from Bali will be closed starting March 19, 2026.

Iqbal explained that these schedule adjustments comply with the Joint Decree (SKB) and regulations implemented by the Bali Provincial Administration during the Nyepi celebrations.

The West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) administration and relevant authorities continue to monitor port conditions to ensure safe, orderly, and smooth crossing services during the Nyepi and Eid al-Fitr holidays this year. ***
