RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The North Jakarta Administrative City Administration has officially sealed two padel courts located in the Ancol and Penjaringan areas. The enforcement was confirmed by the Head of the North Jakarta Sub-Agency of Human Settlements, Land Use, and Spatial Planning (CKTRP), Herry Priyatno.

According to Herry, the closure, carried out on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, was triggered by the owners' failure to secure the necessary administrative permits. "Both facilities had not obtained the required Building Construction Permit (PBG)," he remarked on Thursday, March 5, 2026.

As a result, authorities were mandated to execute administrative sanctions in the form of a permanent halt of activities or sealing. However, the facilities may be allowed to resume operations in the future.

"The condition is that the owners must process and obtain the PBG for the padel court operations to continue," explained Herry, adding that there is no specific deadline for the sealing period.

The timeline for reopening depends entirely on how quickly the owners resolve the legal hurdles. "It all depends on the owners' legal teams to expedite the licensing process," he said.

Herry further urged prospective business owners to familiarize themselves with existing regulations. "Ensure all permits are handled before commencing the construction of any padel facility."

The Operations Manager of the padel court in Ancol, Petrus Assa, admitted that the facility currently lacks a PBG. However, the permit is already being processed and is simply awaiting official issuance. "As a law-abiding citizen, I acknowledge this oversight," said Petrus.

He emphasized that the management would comply with all requirements and pointed out that they currently hold an older Building Construction Permit (IMB). (Annaila Azzahra/Bambang MBKA)
