RRI.CO.ID, Jayapura - The Papua Provincial Administration is confronting steep geographical challenges and infrastructure shortages to ensure equitable, high-quality education reaches its most isolated areas. These strategic and collaborative measures aim to support disadvantaged, frontier, and outermost (3T) communities across the region.

Staff Expert on Community and Human Resources Affairs for the Papua Provincial Administration, Orgenes Kambuaya, emphasized that education is a fundamental right for every citizen, free from discrimination, including for children in remote regions. Speaking after opening the Basic and Secondary Education Consolidation event in Jayapura on Thursday, February 26, 2026, he highlighted key hurdles.

"For that reason, geographical challenges, limited infrastructure, and uneven teacher distribution have become serious concerns for the regional administration," he said, as quoted by Antara.

Orgenes stressed the need for strategic and collaborative steps to guarantee all Papuan children receive decent, quality education services.

"No Papuan child should be left behind due to access limitations. Therefore, equitable education up to 3T areas must be a shared commitment," he remarked.

He explained that the provincial administration is pushing data-based planning, improved teacher quality and distribution, and greater use of learning technology to reach hard-to-access areas.

"Additionally, building and revitalizing educational units is a priority in efforts to enhance education service quality," he added.

Orgenes further noted that inclusive and equitable education forms the vital foundation for creating competitive, superior human resources in Papua. This includes curricula tailored to local potential, strengthened character education, and vocational skills development to support sustainable regional growth.

"We hope the synergy between the provincial administration, subdistricts/cities, customary institutions, religious figures, business sectors, and communities continues to strengthen to realize a robust and equitable education system across all of Papua," he said. ***
