RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs has completed the construction of 39 permanent housing units for flood survivors in Kuala Cangkoy Village, North Aceh Regency. The homes are part of a larger target of 104 units being built by the ministry.

Coordinating Minister Djamari Chaniago said he personally monitored the construction process, from the unloading of materials at Belawan Port to their arrival in Kuala Cangkoy.

“Alhamdulillah, the housing project has progressed smoothly and safely. I am optimistic the full target will be completed by the end of March 2026,” he stated in an official release on Thursday, February 19, 2026, as quoted by Antara.

Minister Djamari emphasized that the housing program reflects the government’s concern for disaster victims in Aceh. He added that the initiative also symbolizes collaboration between the coordinating ministry, local administrations, and the Indonesian military (TNI) in providing decent housing for flood-affected communities.

Construction of the remaining units is ongoing. Minister Djamari expressed hope that the homes can be completed quickly so families may observe the holy month of Ramadan in their new residences.

“May the next houses be finished soon so that the community can enjoy proper permanent housing,” he concluded. ***
